We are beside ourselves with excitement about our last show of the year before New Year's Eve. eastern electrics is set to make your August Bank Holiday partying decision very simple, as our truly unique, compelling, end-of-summer knees up hits Bank Holiday Sunday once again.
As one of the leading labels in tech-house over the past five years, Dirtybird Records has established a unique and distinct sound which has influenced the great and the good of dance music. The darling of the San Francisco scene will be showcasing their own stage in August for the very first time, with Justin Martin and some very special friends in tow.
Full time host and partner mulletover goes head to head with Cologne's finest Kompakt Records, who have been shaping the past, present and future of Europe's house and techno sound for over fifteen years. Originally initiated by Wolfgang Voigt, Jürgen Paape, Reinhard Voigt and Michael Mayer, Kompakt quickly gained a reputation as a cultural hub. The cornerstones of the label's rise has as much to do with the busy hands of its producers as it does a collective of deft ears that can slice through the most compelling details of club music, strip them, redress them, and throw them back at an audience as something deceptively new. Striding out on his own, Michael Mayer makes his long over due debut for both mulletover and eastern electrics. As a DJ, producer and remixer in his own right, Mayer remains one of Germany's core celebrities in dance music, spending his weekends traveling around the globe. Amazingly enough, on occasion he manages to sneak into the studio to produce his own music and remix the likes of Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Foals and Rufus Wainwright.
Our good friends and one of the world's largest independent electronic hubs - Resident Advisor completes the stages with Croydon born (where else) Joy Orbison. Without doubt one of the hottest talents on the UK scene right now, he took up DJing at 13 and eventually moved into production, using Fruity Loops to create 8-bargrime loops developing a distinctive sound which combines house, disco, and dubstep. Orbison achieved underground éclat with his debut single, "Hyph Mngo/Wet Look" which was voted No.23 in the Resident Advisor top 100 tracks of the 2000's and No.1 in Fact Magazine's top tracks of 2009. He was named number 18 in NME's New Music Tips of 2010.
Showcasing great artists in unique urban spaces; eastern electrics bring the raw feel of the underground back to the London scene. But Mayer, Orbison, Martin are just for starters......

Pukka Up’s famous weekly sunset cruise kicks-off from San Antonio Harbour on Tuesday 8th June. Then, after three hours of sun-kissed hedonism it’s off to ‘Carl Cox & Friends’ at Space. For the first time ever the super club’s ‘El Salon’ arena will be decked out in Pukka Up’s 2010 incredible new theme. And, yes, you’ve guessed it, this year’s “The World Cup Summer Scoop” is about UK Newspapers and the Football World Cup 2010.

If that’s not enough, the ever innovative Pukka Up brings the first ever Silent Disco King Headphone Party to Space. Clubbers can listen to two channels through special Pukka Up Pink headphones.
